Our Team

David Reeder, CSP

David is a passionate safety professional at Top Flight Safety with over twelve years’ experience in operator qualifications, behavior based safety, root cause analysis, fleet and safety management systems.
Mr. Reeder joined Zaval-Tex Construction in 2003 and held various positions within the locally owned pipeline company from laborer to pipeline locator and safety coordinator. Over time, David has held a variety of position in safety and health including the Director of Environmental Health Safety and Compliance for a medium size midstream pipeline company located in Houston, Texas that acquired Zaval-Tex in the spring of 2007.
David received his Bachelor’s in Occupational Health and Safety from Columbia Southern University in October of 2017 and has been a Board Certified Safety Professional since 2012. Mr. Reeder achieved his A.A. in Occupational Health and Safety from Lamar Institute of Technology in the fall of 2006.
David is a United States Army Veteran and resides with his wife Misty, and step-daughter Gabby in Nederland, Texas.

Kurt Lazarus, CSP

Kurt Lazarus is an ambitious safety professional at Top Flight Safety with nearly a decade of related experience in: construction, transportation, upstream, midstream, and petrochemical industries. 

Mr. Lazarus began working as an occupational health technician in Pasadena, TX when he chose to pursue a career in safety after seeing the direct results of reactive safety systems. Since then Kurt has held several positions in diverse industries such as safety coordinator, safety manager, fleet safety manager, and safety specialist. Most notably Kurt was the safety manager and fleet manager for a mid-size upstream well service company before the 2015 downturn. 

Kurt received his Bachelor's of Science degree in Occupational Health and Safety with a minor in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University in 2013. Since then he has become a Board Certified Safety Professional and an active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers. 

Mr. Lazarus is a recent first-time father, residing in Pasadena, Texas with his wife Kaitlynne and son Lincoln.
